Thaali

Thaali is a traditional Indian utensil, which has been used since the time of the Indus Valley Civilisation. It is essentially a large plate or platter on which food is served. The entire meal for one person is served on it by arranging bowls along the periphery and dry food directly on the plate. Thaalis are also used in temples and during festivals for rituals, worship and to keep the offerings/prasad.

This image has three thaali designs where two are made out of brass and one out of silver. It has been with the family for around 70 years.
