Parsi Gara Saree

A Parsi Gara is a saree that is widely known for its embroidery. It was originally said to have been worn by immigrant Persian women in the state of Gujarat in India in 650 AD. A Parsi Gara saree is usually a silk saree. The embroidery is usually done in various motifs that are significant to Chinese mythology and Persian culture.

This Parsi Gara saree is made with purple Chinese silk and has been with the family for more than 70 years.
