Chand Bagh Phulkari

Phulkaris were traditionally made in Punjab. They were considered to be a part of a woman's dowry and were used as a shawl. Phulkaris are usually made of cotton and have silk embroidery. Phulkaris are made on a fabric using the darning stitching technique over multiple threads on the reverse side of the fabric.

This phulkari is approximately 80 years old and has been with the family for 35 years. It was sold to them by an antique dealer in Punjab.
