Prints Of Raja Ravi Varma Paintings (Saraswati)

Raja Ravi Varma was a celebrated Indian painter and artist. His works are known for their fusion of Indian traditions of art and aesthetics with the techniques of European academic art. The Raja Ravi Varma press is famous for making affordable lithographs of his paintings available to the public, which greatly enhanced his reach and influence as a painter and public figure. In particular, Ravi Varma's depictions of Hindu deities, as is visible in this case, have received tremendous acceptance from the public and are found, often as objects of worship, across the length and breadth of India.

The particular prints have been a part of the contributor's family collection for more than 60 years.
