Idli Thattu (Idli Maker Vessel)

Idli is one of the most popular South Indian dishes. The dish itself is made from a fermented mixture of urad dal and rice grains, which is then steamed on an idli cooker. Intrinsic to the process is the idli thattu (plate), which not only gives the rice cakes their iconic shape but also ensures that the idlis are well cooked.

This particular set of idli thattu is made of stainless steel and consists of four plates. Each plate has four sections to pour the batter in and all the plates are connected through a stem in the centre.
