Blue Pottery Of Jaipur

Blue pottery was a native Persian craft that became Indianized when the Mughals settled in India. It was later patronized by the then Maharaja of Jaipur, Sawai Ram Singh II. This pottery is unique because of the blue glaze technique and the use of dough in place of clay. Floral and animal motifs are designed on tea sets, jars, pots, urns and more.

The contributor bought this pot from Sanganer, a handicraft hub located in Jaipur; it has been a part of their terrace garden for more than 15 years.
