Copper Flower Plate

Copper is one of the most used metals in Asia. Owing to its high conductivity, durability and resistance to corrosion, copper is extensively used in making utensils and kitchenware. Along with kitchenware, other decorative items are also made using this metal. In Mughal kitchens and in Rajput palaces, copperware was used on a wide scale. Since copper is a soft metal, it is easy to make intricate line engravings on it.

This is a copper flower plate used during worship by the contributor's family. It is almost 80 years old with intricate floral designs etched on it.
