Apatani Tribe (Arunachal Pradesh);Community

Description
After installing a monkey skull in the Naago, another ritual known as Pingya Hunii takes place, in which hosts of the ritual bring castrated pigs to the Myoko Yugyañ (altar). It is here that the pigs are sanctified by a shaman's chanting; rice powder and plum tree are smeared on the pigs by their owners. After the incantations are over, the pigs are taken back by their respective owners and are offered to the concerned deities.
