Description
The festival of Muruñ is celebrated every year in the month of January. The Muruñ ritual is of two types: Ronsër and Rontü. This ritual is performed by one family and the rest of the village members participate to provide the required assistance during the ritual. It is an elaborate and expensive ritual spanning a month. It involves the sacrifice of mithuns, cows, pigs, and chickens. Relatives and other villagers help the family performing the ritual in hosting and organizing it, and supplying food, drinks, and other necessary items.
