A lone ascetic covered in ash, Gaya

Gaya

Description
A lone ascetic, covered in ash. The ash with which many ascetics coat themselves symbolizes renunciation and death. For this reason, unlike all other Hindus, sadhus are not cremated; their corpses are generally put, seated, into a bamboo cage and immersed in the Ganga.
