Description
This documentary by Reema Bora on the Raas Mahotsav of Majuli was made with the support of the INTACH Assam Chapter,and ICH Division, INTACH. It was shot at various locations in Majuli island and looks at the Uttar Kamalabari Satra, Dakhinpat Satra, Gormur Satra, Samaguri Satra, Mishing Raax Committee, and the Selek and SanmillitoSilpiSamaj. The preparations for the Raas festival, its ongoing activities, the ambience of the festival, and other parallel activities like the living art festival have been documented. Majuli is not only about Satras; the Mishing community has a significant role too. Their vibrant culture and simple lifestyle has been captured here. The documentary explores the island and its natural resources as well.
