ICH Research & Documentation »

Description
The items sold in the markets range from simple accessories like the rosary beads and the rudraksh mala to elaborate baskets full of incense sticks and prasad, lined with flowers. These are offered to the gods in hopes of making the higher power happy. These markets have a booming economy in the city of Prayagraj (Allahabad), all attributed to the various devotees who flock to the city during the Kumbh Mela period.
