Documentaries

Description
Produced by the ICH Division, this documentary by the Smt. Phiroza Tafti, convener of the INTACH Dahanu Chapter, highlights the world and lifestyle of the Warli people living in this region. Dahanu and the Warli tribe have an old connection. The Dahanutaluka has 66% of the Warli population, who were originally forest dwellers, hunters and gatherers but have gradually changed to being an agro-pastoral community. The Warli live in tune with nature and respect all living creatures. They use all natural resources very sparingly and sustainably. By living in communion with nature they have reached a heightened consciousness. Their paintings, rangoli, dance, singing and music are a prayer of thanksgiving and celebration! The film explores how the Warli teach us to press the pause button and take a closer look at life.
